Barn Yard Birds

This property is surounded by Un-Huntable ... Posted Land
These birds are hand fed... litterally! The owner of this home came out to feed these "Wild Turkeys" And the Tom and two hens went into the barn until the owner went back in his house!
The Jake's led their harem off towards the back of the property.

Your Maine Hunting License Revenues at work... for the local bird watchers!

Another reason to NOT allow feeding of wildlife!
This should be an unlawful practice!

Planting a Food Plot is One Thing!

Feeding Wild Turkeys from your hands...
is another thing!

Gobbling for the owner to come out and feed it!
One hen is in the barn in the photo below.
Seeking cover when owner came out!
The Jakes and hens exiting out the back yard!
A distant photo but... his white head and body
can be made out at bottom right hand side of this photo, where the field meets the trees
.
This Tom to the left (considerably larger) was directly across from the farm house above. He was struting and gobbling at the smaller Tom gobbling in the door yard of the farm. He seemed to be a little more cautious about going in for a free hand out of food.
April 18th A single morning Hen
This hen was caught making a move from one side of the roadway to the other after coming down from her roost.
Looking for the right nesting spot!
